Calm when it counts
Every deal hits a problem at some point, and it can get emotional. I don't react to the noise. I take a breath, figure out the fix, and get us back on track.
About KC
I've lived in Newton for more than thirty years, on the north side and the south side. I raised three daughters here, bought and renovated my own homes here, and for the last ten years I've helped people buy and sell homes here and across Greater Boston.
I'm a real estate advisor with Engel & Völkers Wellesley. I work directly with every client, most of my business comes by referral, and I'd rather do fewer things well than many things quickly.
Before real estate, I was in sales. I started as an account coordinator at an advertising agency, became an account executive, and then sold professional publishing services to law firms in Boston and New York.
I stepped away to raise my kids. Over those years I bought a home in Boston and sold it, bought on Newton's south side, took on a major renovation and sold that, then moved to the West Newton house we live in now. Somewhere along the way I fell in love with the whole process: the lawyers, the contractors, the financing, the negotiating, all of it.
If there's someone who could get this done, I could, because I knew how hard it was going to be.
When my daughters left the nest, I got my license. The first few years in this business are hard, and plenty of people don't make it past the first one. I learned on one of Newton's highest-producing teams, then went out on my own and joined Engel & Völkers, where the approach is collaborative and the standard is high.
Buying or selling a home is a financial decision and a personal one. Here's what you can count on.

Some people think you need a pushy agent to get things done. I get them done by being straightforward and collaborative. I'll tell you what I think, even when it isn't what you want to hear.
I'm your main point of contact for showings, pricing, negotiations, and inspections. I also bring a trusted group of contractors and vendors who show up and get the work done.
Homes held in trust, estates, downsizing after decades in one house, several family members weighing in. I've handled these from both sides and know which questions to ask early.
Having lived on both the north and south sides, I know Newton's thirteen villages the way residents do: the schools, the parks, the coffee shops, and how one street compares to the next.
I've served on the board of Newton Girls Soccer, including as travel soccer chair, and took part in public school parent programs while my girls came up through the system.
I also have long relationships with Newton's top-producing agents. When a buyer is looking for something that hasn't hit the market, I can ask around. When a seller wants privacy, we can try an off-market sale first.
Outside of work, you'll find me skiing, hiking, traveling with my husband Michael and our daughters, or supporting Dana-Farber through the Pan-Mass Challenge.
“KC has represented me as both a seller and a buyer. … She expertly helped us price our property and handled an open house that resulted in several offers substantially above listing and a prompt sale. … Several months later, she helped us find an off-market condominium in Cambridge.”
“KC showed a deep knowledge of the market, worked with numerous contractors to get my home ready for sale, priced it appropriately, and gave me close, personal attention to get the house sold. … She was a master negotiator …”
“The services she provided went well beyond the services that one would expect from a broker, and her professional network is exceptional. … We are no doubt lifelong friends.”
Text me. We'll talk through where you are and what actually makes sense from here.
